ESPA

In response to the evolving demands of the events industry, the Event Service Professionals Association (ESPA) commissioned the development of two digital guides focused on advancing education around Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA). These companion resources were designed not only to inform ESPA’s members and constituents but also to embody the very principles they promote.

Beyond curating thoughtful, actionable content, special attention was given to the design of the guides to ensure maximum accessibility. A clean, highly readable sans serif typeface was paired with generous negative space to reduce visual fatigue and improve clarity in text-heavy sections. A vision-friendly color palette was carefully chosen to enhance contrast and legibility for users with visual impairments. Custom iconography was developed to clearly denote section breaks and reinforce key themes, while curated imagery was thoughtfully selected to support the message of each section.

Together, these design and content elements form an inclusive, visually cohesive, and user-centered learning tool—one that reflects ESPA’s deep commitment to empowering event professionals with the knowledge and resources to create more equitable, accessible, and world-class events.
